Marcus Rashford has already made summer transfer decision amid £40m Man Utd to Aston Villa clause
Marcus Rashford is already looking to make his Aston Villa move a permanent one following his loan switch.
The Manchester United academy graduate recently left Old Trafford having been frozen out under Ruben Amorim, heading to Villa Park for the remainder of the season. Rashford though has already been re-energised by his move to the Midlands.
The player was always going to have to make a decision this summer with Villa having a £40million purchase option. Rashford himself is keen to stay and play under Unai Emery having told those close to him that he feels revitalised at Villa Park, reports The Sun.
Rashford is yet to score for his new employers, but did provide two assists as they came from behind to see off Chelsea. The United loanee has also impressed his Villa team-mates, who are still competing in the Champions League.
The 27-year-old has been a committed individual in training. A poor application throughout the week was cited as a major issue by Amorim, who shunned the forward for over a month before Rashford eventually secured a move away.
The United boss though did hope to see the Englishman rediscover his best form under Emery and, despite talk of a move away, Rashford looks to have been convinced to move to Villa permanently. European giants Barcelona and PSG were all linked whilst clubs in Italy, Germany and Saudi Arabia are all monitoring his form ahead of the summer window.
Rashford’s international hopes have been rekindled since Thomas Tuchel was named the new England boss. He had fallen out of favour under Gareth Southgate after scoring 17 goals in 60 appearances for the Three Lions.
Emery admitted he was relishing the prospect of getting Rashford back to his best as he said: “I think his potential is huge potential to exploit. I don’t want to know the reason he is leaving from Manchester but I am very happy keeping him here.
“I am very happy to try to exploit and help him recover his performances, individually and collectively. My challenge with him is huge. His challenge with us is exciting.”
