GAMES RESCHEDULED: Aston Villa have three April fixtures moved – but two could move again
Villa have seen three Premier League fixtures in April rescheduled for live TV coverage – but two could be moved again depending on the club’s progress in the FA Cup and Champions League.
Home matches against Nottingham Forest and Newcastle have been moved, along with a trip to Manchester City, though the date and times of two of those remain provisional.
The visit of Forest on Saturday April 5 has been moved to 5.30pm for broadcast on Sky Sports but could still be pushed back to 2pm the following day depending on Villa’s involvement in the Champions League.
Sky will also broadcast Villa’s visit to City, which has been moved to Monday, April 28 (8pm kick-off) though the match will be moved again should either club reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup, or Unai Emery’s men be involved in the last-four of the Champions League.
The only rescheduled match firmly cemented is the visit of Newcastle which now kicks off at 5.30pm on Saturday April 19, again for live broadcast on Sky Sports.
Villa face Cardiff on Friday night in the fifth round of the FA Cup, before travelling to Belgium for the first leg of a Champions League last-16 tie with Club Brugge on Tuesday evening.
Villa’s provisional April schedule in the Premier League is as follows:
Tuesday April 1: Brighton (A), 7.45pm.
Saturday April 5: Nottingham Forest (H), 5.30pm.
Saturday April 12: Southampton (A), 3pm.
Saturday April 19: Newcastle (H), 5.30pm.
Monday April 28: Manchester City (A), 8pm.
