Interim Gers manager Barry Ferguson leads his team to Parkhead on Sunday, March 16, with the

Ibrox club trailing Brendan Rodgers’ team at the top of the Premiership by 13 points following their

epic 4-2 comeback victory against Kilmarnock on Wednesday night. According to The Sun, the teams

are close to reaching an agreement to have Rangers fans fill the away section in Glasgow’s East End

next month.

They say that both clubs are now satisfied with the safety systems in place, and that the Gers are anticipated to acquire approximately 2,5000 tickets. Briefs have yet to be sold, but according to

the article, supporters organisations on both sides of the Glasgow split have been kept up to date o

n the latest developments.

No away fans have attended an Old Firm game since the two teams drew 2-2 at Ibrox in January

2023. Since then, eight matches have been played at both sites with just home fans present. The

club had agreed to allow away fans back into derby games at the start of this season, but Celtic later revoked that agreement due to concerns that Ibrox would be unable to accommodate away supporters

in the fixture on January 2 due to major repairs to the Copland Stand over the summer and into the

first two months of the campaign.
