On January 11, 2025, Everton announced that Moyes will be returning to
Goodison Park as the team’s newest manager. The Scot agreed to a two-and-a-half-year

the Blues made the decision to recruit Moyes.
Moyes emerged as the leading contender to succeed Dyche at The Friedkin Group,
which acquired the 94.1% of Everton’s shares held by Farhad Moshiri in December 2024,
securing majority ownership of the team. Moyes had been unemployed since
July 2024 and was being pursued by the Friedkin Group.
Moyes also made a comeback to Merseyside, having managed 518 games as manager
from 2002 to 2013 after taking over from Everton great Walter Smith. His first
