Anger and desperation at Stoke City following Middlesbrough’s surrender: “The only thing that will save us.”
After seeing their club lose to Middlesbrough 3-1 at home,
Stoke City fans have been in a particularly harsh mood.
With 12 games remaining in yet another subpar Championship season,
Stoke is now in 20th place and five points above the relegation zone.
Their top aim is to stay in the division. Even though this was the league’s first loss
at the bet365 Stadium, Mark Robins, the third manager of the season,
is aware that the crowd is uneasy due to the events of the previous few
years and that this performance fell far short of expectations. Steve Drakeford:
With a little, or a lot, of luck, three teams will be worse than us.
That’s the only thing that will save us. Steve Clay: Robins must be wondering
what the hell he got himself into. The whole club is a mess. No passion,
no aggression. Warwick Clay: Why do all of our managers continue to play
players out of their natural positions? Stoke has to move on to another home game
against Watford on Saturday (3pm). Fans have been using social media to
share their opinions about what they witnessed Tuesday night.
