In an attempt to recover from their weekend losses, Stoke City will play struggling Middlesbrough in the
Championship in the middle of the week.
Having fired two managers this season, Stoke City has had a very bad campaign. Initially led by Steven Schumacher,
SCFC fired him for Narcis Pelach, only for the Spaniard to turn out to be a flop. Although Mark Robins,
the Potters’ current manager, has started to stabilize the team, Stoke is still very much in the relegation zone.
They are five points above the drop zone and in 19th place right now.
Stoke City’s performance against Norwich City last time out was very bad, as they lost 4-2 on the road.As for Middlesbrough,
they are in horrific form at the minute. Boro have fallen right off the pace of the play-off contenders having lost their last five games.
Michael Carrick had been touted as the next boss to lose his job due to said form but he has since been backed by the board.
Boro lost 2-1 in their last game against fellow play-off hopefuls Bristol City.
They had led for the majority of the game until two late George Earthy goals turned the game around.
