John Eustace doesn’t rule out another Derby County transfer after Kemar Roofe signing
John Eustace has not shut the door on adding another free agent to his Derby County squad after landing striker Kemar Roofe yesterday.
Roofe penned a deal until the end of the season and will be in contention for a place in the squad when Derby face Millwall in the Championship this weekend.
Derby have enough room in the squad to register another free agent should they desire with their squad list registered with the EFL standing at 23 players out of a limit of 25.
There are still a number of players without clubs such as former Liverpool and Rangers winger Ryan Kent who is available after leaving Fenerbahce.
Former Manchester United and Fulham defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah is also still available on a free after leaving German side Bayer Leverkusen.
Asked if there was the potential to add further players to the Derby squad in the wake of Roofe’s arrival, Eustace said. “There might still be scope to do that. We will have to wait and see on that.”
Reflecting on Roofe’s arrival yesterday, Eustace said the striker’s record with clubs like Rangers and Leeds speaks for itself.
“Obviously, he’s had a lot of injury problems in the last couple of seasons, but he’s fit now, and he’s hungry.
“If he can come in and just help the squad in any way he can and even give some forward tips to the forwards, just be around the group and put the ball in the net, I think that will help.”
