Crucial Leeds United player in Rangers FC takeover negotiations

Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe is part of a deal to take over Scottish heavyweights Rangers.

The main man behind 49ers Enterprises is reportedly in negotiations to buy the Glasgow team, according to Sky Sports.

After 24 years of working with the Leeds owners in a variety of sports,

Maraathe may be ready to advance in their investment portfolio.

The American business firm assumed full ownership of the Yorkshire outfit in 2023 following

the club’s relegation from the Premier League, having previously been a minority owner.

Additionally, 49ers Enterprises is seeking to sell a 10% stake in their NFL team, the San Francisco 49ers,

according to a Bloomberg report earlier this week.

Given the date, it’s possible that this cash infusion may be used to finance the acquisition of a Rangers interest,

though this is still unclear.

With Dave King currently holding the largest stake in the Premiership team at 13%, it is thought that any

deal involving Rangers will require a multi-million-pound agreement to close.

Leeds United’s impact of Rangers investment
If Marathe is acting on behalf of 49ers Enterprises, then this could be Leeds moving towards being a part of a multi-club model.

Since Red Bull invested in the Championship squad, there is already some relationship between the

Whites and the other clubs that the energy drink corporation owns.
