
Championship rivals applaud the former goalkeeper who was fired by Derby County following the Blackburn inquiry.
In an effort to keep West Brom’s promotion push on track, manager Tony Mowbray has commended
former Derby County goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith for his performances.
After the Hawthorns sold Alex Palmer to Ipswich during the transfer window, Wildsmith was
promoted to the team’s top spot.After his performance was questioned in a 2-0 loss to Blackburn,
Wildsmith made a series of excellent saves in a 1-1 draw against Millwall.

However, Mowbray expressed his satisfaction with the 29-year-old, saying: “I was questioned about the first goal following Blackburn.
“It ricocheted off one of our player’s head, to be honest, so it changed trajectory heading towards him,
that’s why he didn’t have clean hands on it.
