JUST IN: Doctor confirms injury news about Brighton man – Recovery process detailed, positive outlook
Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Julio Enciso has not suffered a serious knee injury on loan at Ipswich Town but is set for a spell on the sidelines.
That’s according to Doctor Osvaldo Insfrán, via ABC Paraguay, who has confirmed the midfielder’s status after he underwent an MRI scan this week.
A report yesterday indicated that the Brighton man, who is currently on loan at Ipswich, had undergone scans after picking up an injury in the draw with Aston Villa.
There was concern that he had suffered knee ligament damage, but it was confirmed that was not the case after scans, and he would be assessed on a day-to-day basis instead.
Insfrán has now confirmed that is the case, going in to detail on Enciso’s injury and what his recovery process will look like.
“A trauma or sprain,” he told Radio Uno.
“There is no talk of a recovery time, we hope he can return to training. He will do physiotherapy and rehabilitation work.
“He travelled to have his tests done by the Brighton doctor; I kept in touch with him. He will recover at Ipswich Town. He is a player of importance to everyone.”
That news will come as relief to Ipswich, who will be relying on the player as they continue to battle relegation, but also Paraguay, who are hoping to have Enciso available for the next international break.
They take on Chile and Colombia in a month’s time, leaving Enciso with plenty of room to recover from this latest blow and make the squad.
