FRANK LAMPARD anticipates that Jamie Paterson, his versatile new acquisition,

will offer significant challenge at the top end of his Coventry City team.
Prior to City’s victory over Sheffield Wednesday last weekend, Paterson joined on a

free transfer till the end of the season, making him Lampard’s second acquisition as Sky Blues head coach.
Lampard thinks the Coventry-born Sky Blues supporter will give it his all on the field

and commended the 33-year-old’s attitude throughout training.

“I’ve always admired him as a player,

both when he was at Bristol City and when I was at Derby,” Lampard stated.

“As a Coventry City supporter and a Coventry boy,

he is a good player and when the chance to train with us arose,

he was still fit but needed fitness.”

“He is a really good addition for us this season to give us competition in different areas because

he is very versatile across the front and has good experience. He is also a really good player and is now fit.

We are really happy to have him.”

He wants to help, he wants to come here, and he wants to show that he’s a terrific player, and he’s doing that.

“I believe that’s something I can relate to, and I hope fans can relate to, because you can

see in him [that he’s a Coventry fan] that he’s excited and loves the club.”

The forward has played on the bench and scored 82 goals in little under 500 games overall.
