Tottenham learn how much Bryan Mbeumo would cost them this summer

Spurs have just learned how much they will have to pay to sign Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, who is reportedly attracting a lot of interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

Will Tottenham add to their attacking stocks in the summer?

Spurs have secured the services of Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich with an option to buy in the summer, and Ange Postecoglou appears confident that the 19-year-old’s switch to N17 will be made permanent at the end of the season.

However, despite the Frenchman’s arrival, reports over recent weeks have indicated that Spurs will prioritise signing a striker in the summer as they want to take some of the goalscoring burden off Dominic Solanke.

One man they have been heavily linked with is Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, and the North London club have now learned just how much the Bees man will cost.

How much would Bryan Mbeumo cost Tottenham?

A report in Football Insider has now offered an update on Mbeumo‘s future while reporting on Newcastle’s interest in the forward.

They say that Eddie Howe wants to add more firepower to his frontline and is a fan of the 25-year-old, who is described as a ‘dream signing’ for the English coach.

In fact, it is asserted that the Magpies have made the Cameroon international their “top priority” for the summer transfer window.

The outlet claims that Newcastle would have to stump up £50m in order to lure Mbeumo away from the Gtech Community Stadium at the end of this season.

Intense transfer battle expected for Mbeumo

Football Insider also point out that the forward will enter the final year of his deal this June, thus putting pressure on Brentford to make a decision on his future.

While no other interested clubs are named in the report, it is said that Newcastle can expect ‘a lot of competition’ for the Bees star, with several sides across the Premier League said to be eyeing him.

The publication adds that they have heard from well-placed sources that the transfer battle for Mbeumo at the end of the season is set to be ‘pretty intense’.
