Leon Aderemi Balogun, a defender for the Super Eagles and Rangers, has stated what the Nigerian football

team needs to do to secure their spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to Soccernet.ng.

The 37-year-old last played for the three-time AFCON Champions in June 2022,

and he has amassed 46 caps overall for the Super Eagles since his 2014 debut.

Eric Chelle’s team has yet to win in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying

matches and is currently in fifth place in the Group,

four points behind South Africa and Rwanda, winners.

In an interview with Ay Suga Naija Lifestyle, Balogun turned back the clock and backed the

Super Eagles to get past their current obstacle as Nigeria resumes their qualifying campaign next month.

“Everyone is aware of how challenging the situation is. I believe that many people believe that it is impossible,

but if you are playing for the Nigerian Super Eagles, you must have some level of confidence.

“We must regain our position at the top of Africa. We have to earn it once more. We still have to work on that.

We still have the reputation, but we need to perform to support it, and we didn’t do that recently.
