Derby County injury latest v Millwall as four set to miss John Eustace’s homecoming

John Eustace is preparing for his first home game in charge of Derby County as he prepares to make an

emotional return to Pride Park after being appointed as the club’s new head coach.

After Paul Warne was sacked earlier this month, Eustace’s appointment was confirmed last Thursday after the club paid compensation to Blackburn for his services.

Eustace’s first game in charge was a 4-0 defeat at QPR which laid bare the challenge facing him with Derby currently in the relegation zone and a point adrift of safety.

Derby now welcome Millwall to Pride Park at the weekend in what is a huge game with home form going to be key for Derby in their bid to stay above the drop zone.

Derby do have injury problems to contend with for the visit of Alex Neil’s side and here’s the latest from the treatment table at Pride Park.

Lars-Jorgen Salvesen

The striker needed to be replaced at half-time against QPR but John Eustace said after the game that it was a result of playing three games in six days and was down to fatigue. Should be okay for Saturday.

Nat Phillips

Missed the defeat to QPR with a knock and will be assessed ahead of the game against Millwall this weekend. He has only just returned from a calf injury.

David Ozoh

The influential on-loan Crystal Palace midfielder also missed the game against QPR through a knock. Faces a battle to prove his fitness for the weekend.
