Stiliyan Petrov wants Celtic ace to start in Munich even if Brendan Rodgers feels he ‘isn’t ready’
Brendan Rodgers has some major calls to make as Celtic prepare for the trip to Munich.
Celtic were trounced 2-1 by Bayern in the first game and now they face an incredible struggle to continue
in this season’s Champions League. There is no denying that Celtic has a chance,
and Daizen Maeda’s goal has made the return leg intriguing.
The only problem is that Bayern Munich, who have a perfect record in Europe and have only lost once
at home this season (to Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup), has only dropped one point in the Bundesliga.
The Scottish champions‘ lives are therefore much more difficult, but since this is Europe’s top league,
nothing should be simple. One of the major decisions Rodgers must make is who will start in the front three,
particularly with Jota getting fitter over the weekend. Celtic defeated Dundee United 3-0, and the returnin
g Portuguese player scored to possibly give Rodgers another indication that he is ready to start such a big
game against Bayern Munich. Forget about the rematch; Stiliyan Petrov wanted Jota to start at
Celtic Park and now wants the same thing to happen in Bavaria. Celtic was instructed to start
