How did possible Europa League opponents get on in the play-offs?

On paper, there isn’t much to differentiate Anderlecht, Bodo/Glimt, Fenerbahce, and Twente, and

one of the results supports this.

Sam Lammers remained on the bench as Twente won 2-1 at home against the Norwegian champions,

a good result for Bodo/Glimt given that the season has yet to begin.

The winners of this match would have the more appealing fixture in terms of advancing to the quarterfinals.

The other match was far more one-sided, with a star-studded Fenerbahce defeating Anderlecht 3-0.

Rangers will have watched both games, and it doesn’t take a tactical genius to figure out that, even

in the latter stages of their respective careers, Dusan Tadic, Eden Dzeko, and Fred are all extremely experienced players under the tutelage of one of the modern era’s best managers, Jose Mourinho.

A journey to Turkey would also be the most difficult, given the reputation that Super Lig fans have

across Europe.

The Special One would appear magisterial beneath the Ibrox lights, providing a nice respite from

the domestic season, which was almost ended before Valentine’s Day.
