Alexander Isak reveals Newcastle’s asking price to Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, and Liverpool
Alexander Isak, Newcastle United’s standout striker, is reportedly seeking for a move
this summer and is likely to demand more than €100 million (£83 million).
This season, Isak has been in incredible form. In a rare campaign devoid of any severe injuries,
the stretchy Swede has rattled in 17 goals over 23 Premier League appearances, including a run
of eight consecutive games with a goal on each side of the new year.Due to his prolific outburst of play,
which doesn’t even account for the intangible influence he has on the rest of Newcastle’s team,
Magpies manager Eddie Howe said, “I love working with Alex and I wouldn’t swap him for anyone.”
That choice could be removed from
Isak would become Newcastle’s most costly sale ever, the most expensive Swedish player in football history,
and only the 17th person to fetch €100 million or more if a club is prepared to match that high asking price.
There is no indication that Isak’s current contract with Newcastle contains any release clauses,
and it runs through the summer of 2028. Other sources report that the Magpies could demand as much as £150m for their talisman,
but SPORT claims that such an exorbitant fee will only be required in the event that Newcastle qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The Northern giants will not contemplate the thought of approaching Europe’s premier club championship without Isak.
Newcastle’s loss to Manchester City last weekend dropped them to seventh place.
fourth position, three points behind the defending Premier League winners. However, the top five teams in the Premier League (instead of just four) will automatically qualify for the expanded Champions League if English clubs continue to advance in UEFA’s different club competitions this season. Newcastle is two points behind Bournemouth, who are in fifth position, but Chelsea is still very much in the running.
