“Great buy” – Leeds United told by Sky Sports pundit to secure deal for £60k/wk star

Leeds United made another loan agreement with Tottenham during the summer as they landed Manor Solomon on a season-long loan to bolster their wide options, and after a slow start, he’s been electric in recent months.

Daniel Farke needed attacking additions after seeing Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter both leave the club, as well as seeing Jaidon Anthony’s loan deal expire.

One of the signings Leeds made was to bring in Tottenham winger Manor Solomon on loan for the 24/25 season.

Here, we look at everything we know about Solomon’s transfer to Leeds, including loan details and wage earnings, and possibility of a permanent deal being considered…

What transfer agreement did Leeds strike with Spurs for Solomon?

Solomon arrived as one of Leeds’ eight signings during the summer window, and one of two season-long loans – as well as Bournemouth’s Joe Rothwell.

Leeds made their feelings known on the signing by suggesting that their patient wait for the right calibre of targets to become available had paid off:

“Beating off competition from a number of top-flight sides across Europe for his signature, the deliberate strategy of remaining patient in the transfer window has paid dividends, with the club able to act quickly to secure the services of a player who only became available in recent days.”

Leeds’ agreement to sign the Israel international does not include an option-to-buy from Tottenham, according to multiple outlets including The Athletic.

Solomon’s current Transfermarkt value stands at €9million (£7.5million), having previously played for Maccabi Petah Tikva, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Fulham before joining Spurs.

What are Solomon’s wages?

Capology’s breakdown of Leeds’ salaries indicate that Solomon is one of the highest-earners at Elland Road.

His “verified” Tottenham wages stand at £60,000-per-week, and it’s unclear how much of that hefty bill Leeds are picking up, but it would be expected that they are paying a significant portion – given that the club beat off considerable competition to sign him, according to the YEP:

“The YEP understands Leeds will cover a significant portion of Solomon’s wages during his time at the club, provided all goes to plan with medical tests and health checks in the coming days.”

If it were up to the fans watching Solomon’s superb form at the moment, he’d have already signed on the dotted line as a permanent signing at Elland Road.

Former Leeds stopper and Sky Sports pundit Paul Robinson believes that a permanent transfer would be a “great buy”, as he spoke via LeedsLive:

“I said at the start of the season that he’s a quality player that didn’t find his way into the Tottenham side, but he’s got a long contract at Tottenham for a reason and that’s because he’s a good, quality player that’s going to get better.

“A season in the Championship will have done him good as well because we know how hard the league is.

“He’s done well at Leeds with his goals and assists and at the minute, you don’t know what’s going to happen at Tottenham with the manager and who’s recruiting the players, so there could be a window of opportunity for Leeds United to sign Manor Solomon, but others will be looking at him.”

If Leeds do get promoted, then he would be a great buy.”
