‘That Is Excellent’ – Rangers Loan Star Issued With High Praise By Birmingham City Boss

Kieran Dowell’s work ethic has impressed Birmingham City manager Chris Davies, despite his

move from Rangers, where he was given little game time.

The Everton academy graduate returned south in the winter transfer window, joining the League

One promotion contenders on loan until the end of the season.

He has quickly established his value to the team, scoring his first goal in only his third game for Blues.

His performances have surprised Birmingham City’s boss, who believes his stamina is a nice surprise given his lack of playing time at Rangers.

When asked if Dowell had struck the ground running, Davies responded at a press conference: “That’s the way to put it.

“He’s coming from Rangers, where he hadn’t played much, and now he has to play a lot. He’s holding

up nicely during games.What has impressed me the most is his work ethic. I believe he possesses the originality, expertise, and workmanship we were seeking for.”
Davies believes that working with Dowell up close has provided him with information that he could

not have gained by simply seeing him play for another team, and he praised the Rangers star’s willingness to take on defensive responsibilities.
“You can see it from the outside, but you don’t know what the character is like.

“For me, that is excellent because these are the type of players I want in the team.”
