Jamie Paterson, a former forward for Huddersfield Town, has returned to England by joining Coventry City,
his childhood team.
The 33-year-old joined Charlotte FC in the US after leaving Swansea City last year,
marking his first departure from the EFL.
But his time in the United States was brief, and he has now signed a short-term contract with the team he grew up cheering for.
“Being a part of this club would always be exciting, but I don’t think there’s anything better in
your football career than the added bonus of getting promoted with your hometown team,” he remarked.
Since Walsall gave Paterson a break in senior football, he has gained a great deal of experience.
In addition to Huddersfield, he has played for teams like Nottingham Forest, Derby County, and Bristol City.
Patterson stated: “To score for Coventry and have the fans sing my name would be amazing and that’s
exactly what I want and is what I’ve always wanted in my career.” Coventry is currently ranked
10th in the Championship table after experiencing a comeback under his leadership.
It would be quite amazing if Coventry supporters sang my name, and I hope they immediately warmed up to me.
