The Blues manager tutored the 60-cap England international during his most successful period as assistant manager at Old Trafford.

Rashford, 27, joined Villa on loan during the January transfer window and will make his league

debut for the Midlands club when Town visit Villa Park on Saturday.

“I believe Marcus, at his best, could contribute to any team in the league. “We know what a threat

he is,” McKenna stated.

“Of course, the boys met him not long ago with Manchester United (Rashford scored an early opener

at Portman Road), but I’ve also seen him at his finest up close, and he can be an incredible player.

“We know his qualities. We know we’ll face him in some capacity on Saturday, whether starting or coming off the bench. They have an extremely deep, high-quality attacking unit that allows them to

make really significant substitutions.

“They can shift the balance of the attacking unit by simply changing some players, and you’re going

to face a really good front four at the start of the game, and there’s every potential you’ll

“In life, as in football, things do not always go well. He’s still young enough and talented enough,

so I’m confident he’ll work hard to return to playing consistently and in great form.”
