Man United’s Liam Delap ‘transfer stance’ as £40m clause revealed
Manchester United are looking to add a striker after struggling this season. They are apparently interested in Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.
Following an unimpressive loan experience at Hull City last season, the Tractor Boys opted to
spend £20 million to entice Delap away from Manchester City.

The bet paid off for the Suffolk club, as the striker has nine Premier League goals in 23 games this season.
While those results are modest, they have been seen favourably by other Premier League clubs,
given the Suffolk side’s weak position in the table. United and a number of other teams were
connected with a move for Delap during the January transfer window, but it was felt that an
outstanding offer would be required for Ipswich to accept an approach.
According to The Athletic, with a deal for Viktor Gyokeres looking improbable, Delap may be a
viable option, particularly if Ipswich are relegated. Technical director Jason Wilcox is already
familiar with the forward’s abilities, having been on the City backroom staff that signed him from
Derby County in 2019.
