Due to a significant Anthony Gordon update, three Newcastle players will miss the Man City match.
Newcastle will be missing Sven Botman following his injury against Arsenal last week,
but Anthony Gordon should make a full recovery to play against Manchester City this Saturday.
Botman missed Newcastle’s FA Cup match last Saturday after suffering an injury in the last seconds
of their Carabao Cup semi-final triumph against Arsenal ten days earlier.
And to provide a severe setback to his preparations, Eddie Howe has announced that the
Dutchman will not be ready to play City at the Etihad on Saturday.
Another center-back Dan Burn will have to take a late fitness test to determine whether he can assist stop Erling Haaland on Saturday after being sent off in the cup match against Birmingham a week ago. Additionally, winger Gordon, who scored in the September rematch versus City, will play at the Etihad after bouncing back from the injury that prevented him from playing in their cup match.”I think Anthony Gordon will be alright. During his pre-game press conference, Howe stated, “He had a thigh issue, but he has responded well to treatment and has training.”
“Sven’s scan revealed positive results following his injury, and it is not permanent. He will miss this weekend’s games, but hopefully not in the upcoming ones.”
