Wolves handed major boost ahead of Liverpool clash as official Premier League statement made
Wolves go to Liverpool in a fixture that comes only days after a chaotic Merseyside Derby.
The Premier League has issued an official statement announcing Liverpool’s quadruple punishment ahead of their home fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves, who are on the verge of relegation, go to Anfield to face the league leaders in a game that
comes only days after a tense Merseyside derby at Goddison Park ended 2-2.
Wolves are in 17th place going into the game, but they can take heart from their 2-0 victory over European contenders Aston Villa last time out and will look to cause another upset against a Reds team that has won only two of their last five games in all competitions.
What happened in the Merseyside Derby?
Everton, led by David Moyes, struck early with a goal from Portuguese forward Beto after only 11 minutes. The Blues have improved significantly since Moyes returned to Merseyside, demonstrating
a strong ambition and hunger to defy the odds against the imposing runaway leads.
Despite their promising start, they were pegged back against the title contenders after a goal by Reds midfielder Alexis Mac Allister in the 16th minute. Liverpool began to establish control of the game and appeared to have secured all three points. Premier League top scorer Mohamed Salah put them back in front with a 73rd-minute strike, but a determined Blues team equalised in the 98th minute through defender James Tarkowski.
Wolves handed major boost ahead of Liverpool clash
Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure and Liverpool’s Curtis Jones were both sent off for their roles in the post-Merseyside Derby violence. Jones’ dismissal, which came in the 63rd minute, enraged manager Arne Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff, who were also given red cards for contacting the referee and disputing several of his decisions after the game.
