Kelechi Iheanacho’s career has been on a downward spiral since leaving Leicester City last summer.

Iheanacho joined Sevilla when his contract with Leicester expired, but after only five starts in LaLiga,

he returned to England in January.

Middlesbrough took a gamble on the out-of-form striker, signing him on a six-month loan until the

end of the season.

Michael Carrick’s side is aiming for Championship promotion, so while it appeared to be a step down

at first, the Nigeria international may likely return to the Premier League.

Kelechi Iheanacho made his debut last night in Boro’s 3-1 loss to Sheffield United, and fans are all

saying the same thing.

Middlesbrough fans brand Kelechi Iheanacho as ‘lazy’

Middlesbrough fans went to X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to Iheanacho’s first

appearance for the club yesterday night.

They all referred to him as ‘lazy’ during his difficult return to English football after leaving Leicester.

@SdohertySean stated, “I took a lot of stick from people on here about Iheanacho.” He’s completely

off the mark. He is overweight and has always been lethargic. Even if he’s on loan and we’re paying

him a lot of money, this is a bad signing. By far the highest-paid member of the club right now.

Clearly, the 28-year-old’s debut was not memorable; nevertheless, Leicester fans will be aware that he has a habit of playing like this.

However, if you give him an opportunity, he will more than likely take it, therefore it would not be shocking if he won over the fans at Riverside Stadium.

Boro return to action against Watford this weekend.
