Leeds United and Coventry City plotting transfer move for Newcastle United forward

Leeds United and Coventry City are among the sides exploring the possibility of signing Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson.

According to a report published on Thursday afternoon by TBR Football, the two Championship promotion contenders could face competition from West Ham United and AFC Bournemouth, with both Premier League clubs previously interested in the 32-year-old.

The Whites and Sky Blues have been two of the biggest spenders in the second tier over the last two seasons, with Leeds currently leading the division with 69 points after 32 games, while Coventry have had a strong run of results under Frank Lampard since the former Chelsea legend took over from Mark Robins.

Wilson is also thought to be considering his options at the moment, which might allow his local club or Leeds to make a move, despite the fierce rivalry for his signing.
