Key Nottingham Forest change confirmed as official document filed at Companies House

Latest Nottingham Forest news as the Reds make a change in their board of directors at the City Ground.
A document filed with Companies House shows that Nottingham Forest’s board of directors has changed.

According to a submission on the Companies House website, Mr Sokratis Kominakis is no longer the club’s director. The official paperwork is titled “termination of a director appointment”.
Kominakis is a co-owner of the Reds. The Greek was part of the group, led by Evangelos Marinakis, that took control the club in May 2017.

The most likely reason for the board change is Forest’s preparation to comply with UEFA competition regulations. It comes as both the Reds and Olympiacos, which is also controlled by Marinakis, could compete in European football next season. UEFA rules forbid clubs managed by the same owners or directors from participating in the same European competition.

Forest has made a few behind-the-scenes modifications in recent months. Nicholas Randall KC was reappointed chairman in October when his successor, Tom Cartledge, resigned down.

Meanwhile, Lina Souloukou formally assumed the post of CEO last month. Souloukou previously worked with Marinakis at Olympiacos. The City Ground board now includes Randall, Ioannis Vrentzos, and non-executive directors Jonny Owen, Simon Forster, and Michael Dugher, while Kominakis is no longer a director, according to the club’s official website. The latter was named to the board in November, when Cartledge announced his resignation.
