In an unpleasant interview, Kasper Schmeichel says that the goalkeeper’s position is “impossible” due to Dad Peter’s Celtic curse.

Grinning Despite a losing run when the Manchester United legend was present, Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is adamant that he still wants his father, Peter, to go to Champions League matches.

Daizen Maeda’s goal gave Brendan Rodgers’ team a lifeline going into the second leg as the Scottish champions pushed Bayern Munich to their limits inside the Celtic Park cauldron on another thrilling night in Europe’s top competition. The match ended in a 2-1 loss, though, as Harry Kane and company maintained an undesired Schmeichel family record and gained an advantage going into the second leg at the Allainz Arena.

Following the final whistle, Kate Abdo, host of CBS Golazo, quickly criticized the Schmeichels for his performance during Celtic’s games in Europe’s top league. Prior to playing the similar position during the first leg loss to Bayern, the Premier League icon gave post-match interviews for the league phase’s 7-1 thrashing at the hands of Borussia Dortmund and the goalless draw with Dinamo Zagreb.

Peter, I believe you have attended three Celtic games in Champions League season, and he hasn’t exactly been your luck, Kasper, Abdo asked. How do you feel about your father attending the upcoming match in Munich?
