Carrick has stated that Iheanacho is ready for his Middlesbrough debut. Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick has claimed that new signing Kelechi Iheanacho is excited to make his debut for

the club.

The Nigerian international joined Boro on loan from Sevilla on deadline day, and Carrick is

delighted by the striker’s zeal and hard effort.

Carrick is optimistic that Iheanacho will have a huge influence at the Riverside.
“He is desperate to play. He has a lovely demeanour and has been excellent since he arrived.

He trained wonderfully with the lads and has been eager to get started. “Kel has excellent

experience and pedigree,” Carrick stated.

“He played against us at the Riverside last season and we managed to come out on top, but he

showed his quality and what he can bring.”

Iheanacho’s move to Middlesbrough will be a fresh start for the 28-year-old after a challenging

six months at Sevilla.

Carrick’s positive evaluation of Iheanacho’s character and ability will further heighten the
