Due to a transfer strategy, Liverpool might face two existing players next season.
According to The Mail, Sheffield United is interested in left-back Beck and attacker
Lewis Koumas and has put both players on their list of targets should the club secure promotion back to the
Premier League. Chris Wilder’s team currently sits second in the Championship, three points ahead of
third-place Burnley and five points behind table toppers Leeds United. If Sheffield United follows up
on its apparent interest in Beck and Koumas, two current Liverpool academy players may find themselves facing the Reds next season.
Both Beck and Koumas are now on loan from Championship teams; Koumas is at Stoke City,
while Beck is at Blackburn Rovers. According to reports, Wilder’s long-term right-hand man Alan Knill,
who coaches Wales as well, is familiar with Beck and Koumas from the international arena because they
have both been a part of Wales squads in recent years. Koumas has six goals and three assists for struggling Stoke,
while Beck is a regular for Blackburn, who are vying for promotion. Last month,
Rousing the Kop said that Liverpool was thrilled with Beck’s development at Blackburn and was
keeping an open mind regarding the possibility of Beck joining Arne Slot’s first team the next season.
