‘how bad is it’ – Nottingham Forest striker carried off on stretcher in FA Cup after collision with keeper
Whitworth ran out to claim a high ball and accidently hit Awoniyi, who looked to headbutt the
keeper, putting him on the ground.

Awoniyi, who scored Nottingham Forest’s second goal, was treated by club doctors and paramedics.
He appeared to have been placed in the recovery position, but it is unclear whether he lost consciousness; the striker was then brought away on a stretcher after perhaps TEN minutes.
There was positive news soon after, with reports that Awoniyi was able to walk back to the
changing rooms from the medical centre – he ‘looked a bit drowsy’ but was walking unaided.
Nuno just ‘happy’ to go through
Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo expressed his relief at the outcome.
He told ITV: “We had a rough start, but the response was positive.
“We suffered another setback after halftime, and it got quite difficult. Credit to Exeter. I’m glad we’re getting through it.”
When asked what his Premier League high-flyers should have done better, he responded, “So many things.” It was difficult to play. “It was a hard game.”
Ipswich next for Forest
So, after three hours of play, Forest advanced to the last 16 against fellow Premier League club Ipswich.
Despite their penalty victory, Nuno Espírito Santo’s team celebrated quietly.
