Better than Ipswich: Opta supercomputer makes bold Leeds United promotion prediction
Leeds United are now leading the league and await a response from others behind them this
evening, but there is growing confidence in the underlying stats that the Whites will win the championship.

No Leeds supporter who has witnessed prior promotion failures can confidently say that this team
is on its way up, but the signs are clear that Daniel Farke is in command of the best team in this
division.
Watford drew 2-2 with Sunderland the previous Saturday before facing the Whites at Vicarage
Road, where they were defeated 4-0 by Leeds.
Opta predicts Championship title: Leeds top by around 6 points
Leeds moved up to 69 points in the rankings with their third consecutive league win, extending
their Championship unbeaten streak to 14 games.
Their opponents Sheffield United (2nd), Burnley (3rd), and Sunderland (4th) all play tonight,
seeking to respond to Leeds’ huge victory – Leeds’ lead over those three sides is five points, eight
points, and ten points.
Opta has revised their predicted standings for the full Championship season, and it looks bright for Leeds, who are expected to win by more than six points:

Farke’s men backed to cruise to title – and it’s Leeds United
Even though every neutral believes it’s ours for the taking, no Leeds fan will be getting ahead of themselves.
We’ve simply seen too many scenarios like this where we’ve snatched defeat from the mouths of
victory, and that mindset will not shift overnight.
That being said, what we’re witnessing from this side is very amazing, and if we continue at the level we’re playing right now, nothing can stop us.
