Kieran McKenna on sticking together for relegation fight

The Blues are 19th and three points from safety after four consecut

ive league defeats, the most

recent of which was a dismal 2-1 home loss to bottom-place Southampton.

Last weekend’s 3-1 FA Cup victory against Championship club Coventry lifted spirits ahead of

games against Aston Villa (a), Tottenham, and Manchester United (a).

“We know what the season is. “We understand what the challenge is,” McKenna added.

“You go from being one of the top teams in the Championship, which no one expected us to be but ourselves, to competing at the bottom of one of the most difficult divisions in world football.

“We’ve improved this year, and I believe we shown that in the Southampton game, but it’s more

difficult to win games that validate and demonstrate the good work that is being done. I know it is, though.

“But I know how strong the connections we’ve built at this club over the last few years are, and I

truly believe that everyone here is still fighting in the right direction and will continue to do so until

the very last game.”

“I believe the supporters will be right there with us and that we’ll be stronger together.”
