Frank Lampard chose not to play the important midfielder against leaders Leeds United, and he

missed the weekend’s match against Ipswich due to a cup tie, but the City manager will almost

certainly start the 29-year-old against the Hoops.

In addition to providing controlling quality in the middle of the park, he also brings fresh legs amid

such a busy schedule of fixtures, and Sky Blues fans should expect to see the former Swansea captain make his full debut for his new side. Who he replaces remains to be seen, although Jamie Allen is

likely to be the one to go, which makes perfect sense given his recent holding position.

Allen also started and played 75 minutes in the FA Cup over the weekend, after playing just over an

hour against Leeds before being replaced by Grimes. And, assuming Lampard remains with his

present 3-5-2 configuration, Victor Torp and Jack Rudoni will play as number eights either side

of the new man.

Predicted City squad vs QPR: Oliver Dovin; Joel Latibeaudiere, Bobby Thomas, Liam Kitching;

Milan van Ewijk, Victor Torp, Matt Grimes, Jack Rudoni, Jay Dasilva; Brandon Thomas-Asante,

Ellis Simms.
