Darren Bent predicts John Eustace and renders the Paul Warne dismissal decision.

Darren Bent has backed John Eustace to keep Derby County in the Championship if he is named

Paul Warne’s successor at Pride Park. The former Rams striker, who played for the team for two and a half years,

met Eustace near the end of his career after joining in January 2015; he was dealing with an injury that ultimately

forced him to hang up his boots a few months later, but he made an impression on Bent, and that impression has

only gotten stronger after successful stints as manager of Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers,

the Ewood Park team confirming that Eustace has requested permission to speak to Derby.

Eustace has led Rovers to sixth place in the Championship.

Although Derby drew with Norwich over the weekend and lost seven of their last eight games,

their record has dropped to the bottom three. Paul Warne was forced to quit. I talk to Derby supporters,

and yesterday I met one who told me that watching Derby was killing his weekend and that he had to stop

because that’s how awful things have been under Paul Warne.

I believe John Eustace is returning to the large club; he was a player there, as I mentioned, and he knows it very well.

There is a large fan base, plenty of opportunities, and they will remain rising.
