Before departing for Sporting in July 2023, Viktor Gyökeres played for Coventry City for more than two seasons.
In January 2021, the Championship team signed the striker on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, and later that year, he became a permanent member.
With 43 goals and 17 assists in more than 100 games, Gyökeres made an impression for Coventry City. He was directly involved in 34 goals during his final season with the Sky Blues.
Several clubs expressed interest in the Sweden international, but ultimately the Lions prevailed. The 26-year-old was passed over by several teams, including Brest, according to
Speaking to the publication, the Ligue 1 team’s sports director, Grégory Lorenzi, has referred to the former Coventry City player as his “possible regret.”

Additionally, there is Viktor Gyökeres. When he was at Coventry, his agent informed me that I was the only French sporting director to call him. “I was prepared to invest €4–€5 million, but it came to €8 million,” he stated.
Since joining the Portuguese team, Gyökeres has played in 84 games, tallying 77 goals and dishing out 22 assists. He may depart Sporting in the summer after being linked to elite European teams, especially Premier League ones.
