11-year-old cancer surviving Forest fan to lead team out at Exeter
A teenage Devon-based Forest fan will lead Forest out at St. James’ Park tonight as we aim to advance
to the Emirates FA Cup fifth round.

Bilbo, an 11-year-old third-generation Forest fan from Devon, will lead his team out under the lights against Exeter in the club’s first competitive match in 70 years.
Bilbo’s childhood has not been typical of a football-obsessed child. His family learnt that he had leukaemia almost five years ago, but he has demonstrated great strength, bravery, and positivity throughout his treatment.
Despite his difficulties, Bilbo continues to face life with energy and a broad smile, and football has played an important role in keeping his spirits up.
He was unable to play football for a long time due to side effects from his medication, but he continued to love Forest from afar and represented the club by wearing his favourite outfits throughout Devon.
Despite being on rigorous chemotherapy for three and a half years, Bilbo was always eager to help others. Throughout his treatment, he took on challenges to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity near to his and his family’s hearts.

Bilbo expressed his delight: “I am so excited to meet Morgan Gibbs-White and the rest of the team,
he is my favourite player, and he plays the same position as me, I can’t wait to shout YOU REDDSS
with all the other Forest fans,”
Bilbo’s mother, Kim, stated, “We can’t thank the Nottingham Forest team enough for being so
generous in giving Bilbo this opportunity; he hasn’t stopped smiling since we told him he would
be meeting the team.” Even during the most difficult days of treatment, Bilbo considered others;
he is extraordinary, and I’m pleased he gets to live out his goal today; the only thing that can top
it is Forest winning the league!”
