West Ham United and Tottenham are fighting for Richard Rios.
According to reports, Nottingham Forest will face competition from Tottenham Hotspur and
West Ham United for the services of 24-year-old Colombian international Richard Rios from Palmeiras.
Richard Rios has gained a market in the Premier League,
according to a report from Caught Offside. The Palmeiras midfielder is being pursued by Nottingham Forest,
West Ham United, and Tottenham Hotspur.
To recruit the Colombian international from the Brazilian club,
the three Premier League clubs do not want to activate the €100 million release clause.
Richard Rios’s ascent
Since making his debut at the 2024 Copa America, Richard Rios has become one of South America’s most sought-after players.
Originally from Vegachi, he was raised in Brazil and completed Flamengo’s youth division.
But the 24-year-old, who has been improving since joining Palmeiras from Guarani FC almost two years ago,
gained notoriety during the Copa America. Rios has made more than 100 appearances with Palmeiras thus far,
contributing nine goals and six assists.
Meanwhile, a number of prominent teams throughout Europe have taken notice of the Colombian midfielder’s development.
Given that West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are fighting for his services,
a move to the Premier League may be imminent.
The South American midfielder’s €100 million release clause, meanwhile, could be problematic.
Is London calling?
Richard Rios has long been associated with Tottenham Hotspur in numerous publications.
Given that Ange Postecoglou desires additional options in the center of the pitch, the ongoing interest is understandable.
Thus, Tottenham has made the Palmeiras midfielder a realistic target.
Tomas Soucek, Edson Alvarez, and Guido Rodriguez have all been hot and cold with West Ham United.
It’s also uncertain if Carlos Soler will finalize a long-term switch to the London Stadium during the summer transfer window.
Rios is therefore a West Ham player worth taking into account.

Nottingham Forest will be vying for the 24-year-old Colombian midfielder’s services in addition to Tottenham and West Ham.
The three Premier League teams, however,
are unwilling to spend €100 million to acquire him from Palmeiras. In the upcoming months,
it will be intriguing to watch if the player makes it to Europe.
