Vardy, Vestergaard, Kristiansen – Leicester City injury news ahead of important Arsenal match

In order to play Arsenal this weekend, Ruud van Nistelrooy will be hoping that three Leicester City players recover from their “light injuries.” For Friday night’s FA Cup loss to Manchester United, the City manager was without regular starters Victor Kristiansen, Jannik Vestergaard, and Jamie Vardy.

In the hopes that they would demonstrate their health in time to go to Old Trafford, Van Nistelrooy had indicated before the game that he was dealing with some “light injuries,” but he had not named them. However, it was established that the three players were the ones who had been having minor problems after they were excluded from the squad.

Van Nistelrooy will give an update on their fitness later this week, but none are anticipated to miss the home game against Arsenal since they have had plenty time to heal from their injuries.
All three, notably Vardy and Kristiansen, would be expected to start if they manage to make it through. Caleb Okoli’s performance at Old Trafford, which van Nistelrooy called “excellent,” has put Vestergaard’s job in jeopardy.

There would only be two players left on City’s injured list if the three are available and Wilfred Ndidi returns after making his first appearance in two months on Friday. Ricardo Pereira (hamstring) is anticipated to be back in contention from March, but Abdul Fatawu (knee) is out for the season.

In contrast, Arsenal will be without its forward three of Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, and now Gabriel Martinelli due to a hamstring injury sustained during the Carabao Cup loss to Newcastle. However, after being spotted practicing at the Gunners’ warm-weather training camp in Dubai, Ben White may return to the field. Since having knee surgery in November, he has been absent.
