
Football: Coventry City’s crushing home loss to Ipswich causes them to exit the FA Cup
After suffering a crushing 4-1 home loss to Premier League struggling Ipswich Town,
Coventry City was eliminated from the FA Cup at the fourth round stage.
Joel Latibeaudiere’s header quickly tied the score after the Sky Blues gave up a penalty inside the first minute.
Jack Clarke’s brace, however, gave the Tractor Boys the lead before Jaden Philiogene scored at the
Coventry Building Society Arena following the break.
With the club generating funds for charities Sky Blues in the Community and Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice,
City donned a limited-edition fourth strip.
Additionally, kickoff was delayed by ten minutes due to traffic outside the stadium.

bottom left corner at the near post to give the Sky Blues the equalizer.
On minute 28, Clarke drove into the area and curled a shot from 15 yards out into the bottom
right corner to give Ipswich the lead again.
After Coventry lost control deep in their own half, the winger finished coolly from six yards
out to increase his game total at 37 minutes.
On minute sixty-three, Philogene squeaked a shot past Dovin’s near post from Clarke’s square
ball to give the Tractor Boys the lead.
The next game for Coventry is against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday, February 11 at the
Coventry Building Society. Kickoff is at 7:45 p.m.
