At Goodison Park, Everton gets ready for the Merseyside derby against Liverpool.
David Moyes might start Carlos Alcaraz, Everton’s new kid, against Liverpool in the Merseyside
derby.

On the day of the January transfer deadline, Alcaraz left Brazilian club Flamengo to join the Toffees
on loan. And when the offensive midfielder made his debut off the bench in last Saturday’s 2-0 FA
Cup fourth-round loss to AFC Bournemouth, he left a striking impact.
Alcaraz, who was brought on in the 65th minute, gave the game extra energy and impetus after hitting the post with a free kick. Tim Iroegbunam and Jack Harrison, two other substitutes, were also noticed.
‘Unpredictable’
When Everton plays Liverpool in the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Wednesday, their
focus returns to the Premier League. After the Bournemouth match, Moyes said he was happy with Alcaraz and that he adds unpredictability to the Blues’ selection.
“I was really pleased and I was also pleased with Jack Harrison,” the Everton manager stated. When
we needed it most, he delivered three or four excellent deliveries. We’re half-nursing Tim back to
fitness after he came in. Finding guys we can and could use, as well as some competitiveness inside the team, is, in my opinion, the most important thing. I believed those players demonstrated their ability to do so.
“I’m just off the pitch and collecting my bearings, so it will be too early for me to consider whether Alcaraz begins. I simply thought there was a little distinct element; it provides us more choices, which,
if we can have them, would make us more unpredictable.
