BREAKING: John Eustace has been named Derby County’s next head coach on a five-year contract that includes a club manager record salary.
According to a recent report about their hunt for a new manager,
Derby County is thought to have approached the idea of hiring a “incredible” manager to succeed Paul Warne.
Derby is looking for successors for Paul Warne.
After suffering a seven-game losing streak in the Championship,
the Rams made the tough choice to split from Warne last week.
After Derby’s recent loss against Sheffield United,
which left them in 22nd place and in the relegation zone,
the team decided it was time to make a change before things got worse.
The hunt for Warne’s replacement is currently underway,
and a report states that Derby was prepared to contact Blackburn Rovers manager John Eustace in an attempt to sign him away from their Championship rivals.
The 45-year-old even acknowledged as much this past weekend following his team’s FA Cup loss to Wolves, saying:
“I just realized they’ve made an official approach after leaving the field.
I’ll need to speak with the proprietors to find out what transpired.
Eustace is approached by Derby.
The Express & Star now claims that Eustace is eager to talk about taking Warne’s place at Derby and may be prepared to leave a team that is vying for promotion to the Premier League in the middle of the season.
The manager himself has confirmed to Blackburn that Derby’s intended approach for Eustace is now official, according to the BBC.
The Rams are said to have “triggered a £500,000 compensation clause” in the Englishman’s contract,
meaning that he will likely return to the team where he played his final games.
Given that he would be joining Derby from one of the top teams in the division to one of its biggest underdogs,
Eustace’s appointment could be extremely intriguing and have a significant impact on the Championship.

In the latter part of last year, commentator Ali Maxwell said of him, one of the many compliments he has received in his management tenure thus far:
“With six consecutive victories, they have moved into the top six of the Championship; what and who is driving this amazing season-opening that many, including myself, did not anticipate?” – John Eustace. With six straight victories, they have moved into the top six in the Championship. What and who is responsible for this amazing start to the season, which many, including myself, did not anticipate? John Eustace.
Even though Eustace, 45, is still relatively new to the managerial world, his early career indicators have been encouraging, so it’s easy to see why Derby see him as the top candidate to join.
Derby would be hiring a manager who can steer Blackburn away from relegation between now and the end of the season before guiding them to greater things beyond the current campaign, given that he has led his team into sixth place in the Championship and, consequently, into the playoffs.
