Mark Robins is aware that Stoke City cannot afford to get off to such a bad start or give up goals as they did against Cardiff.
Stoke has now conceded bad goals within the first eight minutes of three of their last four games. This time, they are playing in the FA Cup fourth round, and they were under 2-0 shortly after against Portsmouth in the league before regaining their footing.Lewis Baker’s penalty and two goals from Lewis Koumas gave Stoke the lead and should have guaranteed them a spot in the round of sixteen, but more subpar play by the Potters led to a penalty shootout loss.

“You can’t give goals away in a game like we did,” Robins stated. They were quite bad objectives to divulge. In contrast to ours, where we had to work for each one, theirs hasn’t actually required much work. Even though we lost 2-0, we persevered and displayed some excellent spirit. That’s the first thing, but could we just make sure we play well right immediately and don’t waste those opportunities?
