Before securing a five-year contract with Palace in 2015 for an undisclosed amount,
the former England junior international scored just 15 goals in 91 games on Wearside.
According to sources at the time, the sum increased to £9 million, which means that Wickham
has received approximately £17 million in transfer fees over his career.
As the Addicks sought to strengthen their forward line under Nathan Jones, Wickham inked a short-term contract with Charlton Athletic under former Sunderland manager Charlie Methven last March. The 31-year-old former Crystal Palace forward was released in May after only scoring once in four league games for the team. Since then, Wickham has been a free agent.
But according to a story in the Watford Observer, Wickham is currently training with Watford, a Championship team.
