“Proud” Benzema ends his international career with France Three Spurs loanees played
in two FA Cup games this Saturday lunchtime: Jamie Donley and Josh Keeley,
who are both learning their trade at Leyton Orient in League One, had an exciting match against Manchester City,
the four-time English champions, and Manor Solomon, who had a fairly ordinary FA Cup matchup
in an all Championship match at home against Millwall. Both Donley and Keeley entered the game
in strong form both individually and as a team, having not lost in the league since their
recent loss to Stockport County in November.
With France, “Proud” Benzema ends his international career.
Three Spurs loanees participated in FA Cup 4th round action this Saturday lunchtime across two games:
Manor Solomon had a fairly typical FA Cup fixture in an all Championship match at home against Millwall,
while Jamie Donley and Josh Keeley, who are both learning their trade at Leyton Orient in League One,
had an exciting match against Manchester City, the reigning English champions.
Before their most recent league loss to Stockport County in November, Donley and Keeley were in strong
form both individually and as a team going into this match.
a difficult first fifteen minutes, but following some strong pressure in
Donley took a shot just past the halfway line after the ball fell to him in the middle of the park by Orient on
City new boy Nico González. It smashed against the bar but struck the defenseless Ortega on the backside
as he returned to retrieve it and it trickled into the net.
It’s a little unfortunate that it doesn’t technically count as a Donley goal. Sure, you could say that it was a little fortuitous,
but sometimes you have to make your own luck, and Orient definitely did that in this case. Just before the half,
Keeley would make a crucial close-range stop against Omar Marmoush to maintain the lead,
and the O’s would head to the dressing room.
