Liam Kitching strengthens the argument why Coventry City should sign a free agent.
Liam Kitching has weighed in on the demand that Coventry City sign Jamie Paterson, a free agent. The forward, who was born in Coventry, has pleased both head coach Frank Lampard and the players during his month-long training with the Sky Blues.
In an attempt to sign a contract with his hometown team through the end of the current campaign, Lampard claims the 33-year-old has been “first class” both on and off the training field.
In addition to immediately becoming acquainted with the rest of the team at Ryton, the former Swansea City star already knows Joel Latibeaudiere, Jake Bidwell, and newcomer Matt Grimes from their time playing for the South Wales club. The player, who left MLS team Charlotte FC in December, is now unattached and City has until the third week of the season to sign him.
Kitching responded, “He’s a great lad and good little player out on the training pitch,” when asked about the player’s caliber and impact on the training field. We’re encouraging one another and attempting to support one another because he’s a great guy in the locker room as well.
When asked if he would like to see Paterson signed by the team to help them advance to the playoffs, the center-half replied, “Definitely, yes.” Since I’ve faced him a few times and he’s always been a cunning player, I believe he would be a valuable addition to our team.
In addition to appearing “fit and sharp,” Lampard has discussed the impact of the seasoned and versatile forward, saying he has been a “brilliant” character in the locker room.
