After Stoke City avoided the deadline scramble, Mark Robins outlines his clearly stated transfer stance.
Mark Robins acknowledges that if things didn’t work out, Stoke City was prepared to walk
away from possible deals at the end of the summer window.
Before the deadline of 11 p.m. on Monday, Stoke was searching for methods to strengthen
Robins’ team in light of budgetary restrictions and the fact that some senior players were
recovering from injuries. Although Ryan Mmaee returned from a loan stint at Rapid
Vienna while he heals from a hamstring injury, they decided not to pursue Hibs winger
Elie Youan and did not add anyone to the senior squad. Ali Al-Hamadi and
Josh Wilson-Esbrand have already been loaned by Stoke. “It is what it is,” Robins stated.
We made an effort, but occasionally things simply don’t work out, and then people attempt
to make me uncomfortable and the club uncomfortable. It must work for everyone.
There was nothing worthwhile in pursuing and causing harm to things that were either
already in place or might be in the works. You have to consider all the options, and after doing so,
we concluded that it wasn’t worthwhile to pursue at that time.An 18-year-old trialist
winger made a significant impact in a 4-2 victory, and Stoke has since confirmed the signing of
19-year-olds Ruben Curley, a midfielder from Manchester United, and Adriel Walker,
a striker from West Bromwich Albion.
