Juric admits disappointed verdict on Southampton’s transfers

In a candid appraisal of the situation, SAINTS boss Ivan Juric said that he was upset when the

winter transfer window ended.

Only two of the Saints’ five new additions, Welington and Albert Gronbaek, are anticipated to

improve Juric’s starting lineup this year.

With six senior departures, the team was able to reduce its roster, and only one player, youthful

Sam Amo-Ameyaw, is certain to leave.

Up until the last day, Juric had held out hope that the Saints would improve the calibre of his alternatives, but a deal for defender Abakar Sylla fell through.

Juric responded, “Yeah, a little bit, because we have some positions that we missed players,”

when asked if he was dissatisfied with the result.

“That might cause issues along the road. We are at the bottom of the table, so I know it was a really tough scenario for us.

“It’s not simple. Perhaps it is now lot simpler for Ipswich or other teams to purchase the players and persuade them to come.

“I believe the club made an effort to get me what I wanted, but we were unable. That’s the reality.

For the remainder of the season, certain players who stated their desire to leave Saints during the

winter transfer window will stay with the team.

In his preview of the FA Cup fourth-round matchup against Championship Burnley, Juric insisted

that this has not been and would not be an issue for him.
