Everton must feel bad about selling the “frightening” talent, who is worth twice as much as Ndiaye.
David Moyes has changed that. Everton is riding a three-match winning streak in the Premier League and have rediscovered their attacking identity, putting plenty of space between themselves and the relegation fodder. The player propelling the new narrative forward is Iliman Ndiaye, who is quickly becoming a sensation in Blue. Everton hosts Bournemouth in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend after welcoming Liverpool to Goodison Park in a crucial Premier League match.
Moyes’ principal guy is Iliman Ndiaye.
Last summer, Everton paid £15 million to recruit Ndiaye from Ligue 1 team Marseille. Since then, he has scored eight goals in his first 26 games, making him one of the more wise business decisions made in recent problematic years. He has now scored in each of Everton’s three wins under Moyes’ tutelage, and BBC Sport’s Oluwashina Okeleji even dubbed him “Everton’s standout performer this season.” He was a bright spot during the dismal Dyche-led months of the season.
Ndiaye is in the top 8% of Premier League wingers this season in terms of successful take-ons, the top 17% in terms of tackles per 90, and the top 19% in terms of pass completion, according to FBref.
