Morgan Gibbs-White is closing in on a historical Nottingham Forest feat and nobody is talking about it
One of Nottingham Forest’s most important components is Morgan Gibbs-White, an English
midfielder who is getting closer to setting a record at the City Ground.
Even though Chris Wood scored a hat-trick, Shay Given praised Gibbs-White as the most outstanding player in the Forest team’s 7-0 victory over Brighton.
Nuno Espirito Santo is depending on the former Wolves player to serve as the link between Forest’s strong defensive and the prolific Wood, and his nine goals in the Premier League this season have
made Forest supporters want to see Gibbs-White called up to the England side.
Because of his continuous significance at the City Ground, Gibbs-White was linked to Liverpool. However, Forest wants to offer Gibbs-White a new contract, so for the time being, the midfield
maestro will continue to dazzle under Espirito Santo.
Given that he is on the verge of shattering a long-standing record at Forest, Gibbs-White himself
has an incentive to stay.
Morgan Gibbs-White nearing Nottingham Forest assist record
After setting up 10 goals the previous season and eight in his first season at the City Ground under
Steve Cooper, Gibbs-White has now contributed five assists in the Premier League this year.
Gibbs-White is getting closer to securing his own piece of Forest history with 22 assists, placing him second in the all-time Premier League assist chart.
Ian Woan, who left the team in 2000 after ten years at Forest, currently holds the record with 27
assists. Gibbs-White probably didn’t expect to smash records at Forest once he came there in 2022,
but a crucial aspect of his game gave his former manager Cooper constant faith in the 25-year-old.
